What is CFC Youth For Christ

Tonight as we launch the Youth Camp we need all the support of the whole CFC Macau community. Let us pray for the success of this camp which is an entry point to CFC Youth for Christ. Here are some of the related information about YFC.

CFC Youth for Christ aims to provide a Christian support environment for young teenagers between 13 to 21 years of age.
The program is oriented towards meeting the needs of our young people to belong, to be motivated, to be useful, to be good examples, to be Christian witnesses. It has put a premium on four characteristics: it is Fun ; it builds Friendships ; it enhances the Faith ; it allows the young Free , but responsible expression.
YFC is now established all over the Philippines as well as in cities and states of other countries around the world. It is in the community parishes, as well as in various high schools and universities.
Annually, for the last ten years, Youth for Christ gathers over 10,000 of its leaders all over the country and abroad in an International Leaders Conference during during summer. This is a focal event in the life of YFC, a time to celebrate God's goodness in the coming together of young brothers and sisters who love the Lord. The three-day weekend is highlighted by talks, creative and sports competitions, vibrant worship, wholesome entertainment, a Praise Parade, Praise Cruise and Praisefest.
YFC's future is directed towards giving the youth a worthwhile cause to support as we seek to address, in our small way, the plight of the poor and the less privileged and the social and environmental issues that trample on the youth's human dignity: abortion, drugs, fraternity violence, sexual immorality, corruption and even the rape of our natural resources.
To this end, we organized two programs:
"GAWAD KALINGA" where YFC seeks to address human poverty that limits opportunities of the majority of our young people. Our means tie up with the bigger CFC Work with the Poor thrust that has established a program for street children (SAGIP), youth rehabilitation (SIGA), and shelter improvement (TATAG).
"LAYA" where YFC seeks to create greater consciousness among our young of the need to stop the growing culture of death that deprives them of a bright future. Laya is the young's advocacy campaign to preserve the world God has created, good and beautiful, for them to inherit and subdue.

Christian Life Program Training

Bro. Danny Ngo conducted the Christian Life Program Training last Saturday July 22 at Happy Valley. He talked about "Evangelism and Spiritual Warfare". As CFC Macau prepares for another CLP, the value of this talk can not be ignored. Bro. Danny mentioned about our spiritual weapons and our protection as we engaged in evangelism. Lastly he concluded that evangelism is a spiritual warfare, that there are four points to consider:
1. Guard against two extremes (1) the view that there is no devil and (2) the view that all
negative things or happenings are attributable to the devil.
2. Remember that Jesus has already won the victory in this fight against Satan. And the
God who enlists us in his army also trains, equips, and leads us.
3. James 4:7. We have power to rout the devil, but such is premised on our submission to
God; the importance of righteousness, faith, dependence on God.
4. 2 Tim 2:3. As good soldiers, we can expect hardships and difficulties. We are to bear
them and overcome them.
And now that we will be having our CLP, a major battle is on.

Household Meeting at Bro. Dante's Place

We had our household meeting at Bro. Dante and Sis. Donna's flat in Taipa on July 8 (Saturday night). It was a fruitful experience for all of us as we had a guest couple from Goa, India. They are Bro. Francis and Sis. Anna. They have come from the Philippines recently as they attended the 25th Year Anniversary of Couples for Christ. They have been CFC members for 19 years. The couple gave us practical advise on what it takes to stay with the CFC community after those years. Bro. Francis mentioned the importance of a loving relationship among household members and household head.

Macau CFC - Trip To China

The Couples for Christ Macau community had its first fellowship trip outside Macau on July 2, 2006. We had a lot of fun. A total of 42 persons were in that trip. We went to Safari Park in Guangzhou. All of us enjoyed looking at the animals both wild and tame especially the children because they were able to see them in reality. We were also able to visit the newest swimming pool in Chong San before heading back to Macau. Above please see some of our pictures taken during that trip.
